Metal Finishing

ASCC has developed a broad range of metal and surface finishing formulations. Surface finishing products improve the item’s appearance with additional benefits of coating adhesion, solderability, corrosion resistance, tarnish resistance, chemical and wear resistance, pretreatment coating weight, modifying electrical conductivity, and removing burrs as well as polish and altering substrate smoothness.

Phos 745RT

Atlantic Phos 745RT is a non-foaming blend of buffered phosphates, water conditioners, aluminum enchants, and coating accelerators in combination with a high level of room temperature detergents in a convenient liquid form.  Atlantic Phos 745RT is pH balanced so little or no pH adjustment is required. Atlantic Phos 745RT is designed for use in multi-stage industrial recirculating spray phosphatizing systems operating from 75-130°F. Atlantic Phos 745RT produces an iridescent blue coating on ferrous components, which provides both improved paint adhesion and corrosion resistance for the finish.  Atlantic Phos 745RT also produces a light coating on aluminum, zinc, and galvanized surfaces.

Phos 830F

Atlantic Phos 830F is a blend of buffered phosphates, water conditioners, aluminum etchant, and non-heavy metal coating accelerators in combination with a high level of low foaming detergents in a convenient liquid form. Atlantic Phos 830F is pH balanced so little or no pH adjustment is required. Atlantic Phos 830F is designed for use in multi-stage industrial recirculating spray phosphatizing systems. Atlantic Phos 830F produces a light to moderate etch and iridescent phosphate coating on aluminum components, which provides improved paint adhesion and corrosion resistance. Atlantic Phos 830F also produces a light etch on zinc and galvanized surfaces.

Phos 473RT

Atlantic Phos 473RT is a blend of buffered phosphates, water conditioners, and non-heavy metal coating accelerators in combination with a high level of low foaming detergents in a convenient liquid form. Atlantic Phos 473RT is designed for use in multi-stage industrial recirculating spray phosphatizing systems. Atlantic Phos 473RT does not contain any metals and is extremely stable at higher temperatures and varied pH levels, verses standard HAS (maximum 120°F) or chlorate (extremely narrow operating pH) accelerators. Atlantic Phos 473RT adds tremendous economy to phosphate operations by saving thousands of dollars annually in the form of energy costs.

Phos 800

Atlantic Phos 800 is a highly concentrated iron phosphatizing compound for pre-cleaned metal in multiple stage washer systems. It can be used in recirculating spray and immersion systems. Coatings range from 25 – 70 milligrams per square foot and meet or exceed the requirements of Military Specification TTC-490 B for Type II coatings.  Atlantic Phos 800 is a premium, mat gray chlorate based straight iron phosphate. Excellent salt spray and humidity performance with minimum sludge formation

Phos 840

Atlantic Phos 840F, detergent iron phosphate, is a blend of buffered phosphates, water conditioners, and coating accelerators in combination with a high level of non-foaming detergents in a convenient liquid form. Atlantic Phos 840F is designed for use in multi-stage (2, 3, 4 and 5) industrial recirculating spray phosphatizing systems.

Phos 473XLT

Atlantic Phos 473XLT is a blend of buffered phosphates, water conditioners, and non-metal coating accelerators in combination with a high level of low foaming detergents in a convenient liquid form. Atlantic Phos 473XLT is designed for use in once-through spray and steam phosphatizing systems. Atlantic Phos 473XLT does not contain any metals and is extremely stable at higher temperatures and varied pH levels, verses standard HAS (maximum 120°F) or chlorate (extremely narrow operating pH) accelerators.  This can be especially true around heat exchange areas where temperatures can approach boiling. Atlantic Phos 473XLT adds tremendous economy to phosphate operations by saving thousands of dollars annually in the form of energy costs.

Phos ST2

Atlantic Phos ST2 is a concentrated biodegradable iron phosphatizing and cleaning compound for both immersion and steam phosphatizing operations.  Atlantic Phos ST2 can be used on all ferrous metals and aluminum. It can produce coating weights of 20-50 mgs/ft by steam, soak or manual applications. Atlantic Phos ST2 has excellent cleaning properties and is designed to be used in immersion or non-recirculating spray applications at a wide temperature range of anywhere between 70°F and 212°F.  Atlantic Phos ST2 is completely metal-free.

No-Rinse

Atlantic Phos No-Rinse is a low-foaming recirculating spray iron phosphate for cleaning and iron phosphating. Atlantic Phos No-Rinse is formulated with the idea that no rinse will follow washing.  The wetting agents and non-metal accelerators are compatible over a wide variety of cleaning and paint applications.  This product is molybdate-free. Atlantic Phos No-Rinse produces an iridescent blue-gray coating on ferrous components which provides improved paint adhesion and corrosion resistance for the finish.

Kote ZrP

Atlantic Kote ZrP is a nanotechnology zirconium polymer coating formulated for outstanding corrosion inhibition and superior paint and coating adhesion on metal surfaces.  The coating contains a blend of organic and inorganic compounds which naturally bond with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.  The product provides a visual indication of coating without the traditional use of high-phosphorus compounds. Atlantic Kote ZrP provides superior paint adhesion and corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish over traditional iron phosphate coatings.  Atlantic Kote ZrP does not contain regulated heavy metals, and is acceptable for almost any waste treatment facility or regional POTW.  Atlantic Kote ZrP is an excellent replacement to traditional high phosphorus based coatings when phosphate discharges are regulated.

Kote ZRP-LT

Atlantic Kote ZrP-LT is a recirculating spray detergent nanotechnology zirconium polymer hybrid coating formulated for cleaning and outstanding corrosion inhibition and superior paint adhesion on metal surfaces.  The coating contains a blend of organic and inorganic compounds which naturally bond with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.  The product provides a visual indication of coating without the traditional use of high-phosphorus compounds. Atlantic Kote ZrP-LT does not contain regulated heavy metals and is acceptable for almost any waste treatment facility or regional POTW.  Provides the benefits of zirconium, and the coating weight of iron phosphate.

Prep 473ZB

Atlantic Prep 473ZB is a recirculating spray nanotechnology zirconium phosphate hybrid coating formulated for outstanding corrosion inhibition and superior paint adhesion on metal surfaces.  The coating contains a blend of organic and inorganic compounds which naturally bond with ferrous and most non-ferrous metals.  The product provides a visual indication of coating without the traditional use of high-phosphorus compounds or metals such as molybdenum, vanadium, nickel, or zinc.  Atlantic Prep 473ZB provides superior paint adhesion and corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish over traditional iron phosphate coatings.  Atlantic Prep 473ZB does not contain regulated heavy metals, and is acceptable for almost any waste treatment facility or regional POTW.  Atlantic Prep 473ZB is an excellent replacement to traditional high phosphorus-based coatings when phosphate discharges are regulated.

Kote 787

Atlantic Kote 787 is a clear nanotechnology cleaner and coater formulated for both outstanding corrosion inhibition and superior paint adhesion on aluminum and steel.  The imperceptible coating contains a blend of organic and inorganic polymeric compounds which naturally bond with clean aluminum without changing the outward appearance and brightness of the substrate. Atlantic Kote 787 provides superior paint adhesion and corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish over traditional phosphoric or phos/moly non-chrome sealing rinses.  Atlantic Kote 787 seeks out and fills any voids in the primary phosphate coating. Atlantic Kote 787 does not contain regulated heavy metals, and is acceptable for almost any waste treatment facility or regional POTW.

Phos M4

Atlantic Phos M4 is a concentrated immersion manganese phosphating compound.  It produces a fine, dense, crystalline coating on ferrous metal and zinc die-castings.  Atlantic Phos M4 is ideal where a coating to reduce friction is desired to prevent galling, scoring or other undesirable part on part wear while parts are being conditioned for continuous moving contact. Atlantic Phos M4 has an unprecedented degree of thermal stability for a manganese phosphate coating. It can be applied to any ferrous metal component, including threaded components, valves, fasteners, tubes, pipes, subsea parts, connectors, and other components.  Atlantic Phos M4 creates a superior bonding surface for industrial finishes, and provides outstanding corrosion resistance under paint, oil, wax, and other industrial finishes or break-in oils.

BlackOX 989L

Atlantic’s BlackOxide 989L is a concentrated liquid product formulated to produce a black oxide coating on steel. The coating produced meets the requirements of MIL-DTL-13924, Class 1 and AMS 2485. BlackOxide 989L liquid does not contain any explosive or hazardous chlorite or chlorate compounds, is non-poisonous and does not contain any cyanide. There are no color variations when compared to powdered black oxides.

Phos Z3x3

Atlantic Phos Z3x3 is an immersion and flow heavy zinc phosphating compound.  It produces a fine, dense, crystalline coating on ferrous metal and zinc die-castings.  Atlantic Phos Z3x3 is ideal where a coating to reduce friction is desired to prevent galling, scoring or other undesirable part on part wear while parts are being conditioned for continuous moving contact. Atlantic Phos Z3x3 is a triple concentrate of Atlantic Phos Z3.

Phos 490F

Immersion tri-metal zinc, manganese, and nickel phosphate. Produces a fine, dense coating on ferrous metals and zinc die-castings. Provides a coating weight of 500 to 3000-mg/ft2. Will meet or exceed military specification: DOD-P-16232, Type Z, A-A-59267 Type Z, Type M MIL-P-50002 Type Z, and Type M TT-C-490F Type 1 Class 1.

Phos 36Z

Atlantic Phos 36Z is an immersion and flow-modified heavy zinc phosphating compound.  It produces a fine grain, dense, crystalline coating on ferrous metal and zinc die-castings.  Atlantic Phos 36Z is ideal where a coating to reduce friction is desired to prevent galling, scoring or other undesirable part-on-part wear while parts are being conditioned for continuous moving contact.

BlackOX 989P

Concentrated powdered high temperature black oxide. Meets the requirements of MIL-DTL-13924, Class 1 and AMS 2485. Non-poisonous, non-cyanide, no hazardous chlorite or chlorate.

Phos 690C

Atlantic Phos 690C is a blend of primary zinc phosphate, nickel-free coating accelerators, and a buffered blend of acids designed to provide a zinc phosphate coating in multi-stage industrial metal treatment processes. Atlantic Phos 690C produces a grey crystalline coating on ferrous metal surfaces with a coating weight range of 150-2000mgs/ft2, which may act as a binder for paint, as a metal forming lubricant absorbent, or to provide long term rust protection. Atlantic Phos 690C may be adjusted for use in either immersion or spray applications.

Seal 787

Atlantic Seal 787 is a clear nanotechnology rinse aid formulated for both outstanding corrosion inhibition and superior coating adhesion on ferrous metals, aluminum, and galvanized substrates.  The imperceptible rinse aid contains a blend of organic and inorganic polymeric compounds which naturally and permanently bond with clean metal without changing the outward appearance and brightness of the substrate.  In many cases, salt spray results and impact resistance can more than double over traditional non-chrome seals. Atlantic Seal 787 provides superior coating adhesion and corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish over traditional phosphoric or phos/moly non-chrome sealing rinses.

Seal NCS

Low-concentration traditional non-chrome seal. Atlantic Seal NCS is a concentrated mildly acidic polymeric sealing rinse designed to provide a final rinse to phosphatized metal. Atlantic Seal NCS helps prevent flash rusting during dry down and provides improved corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish. Atlantic Seal NCS reacts similar to chromic sealing rinses by forming a light (2-4-mgs/ft2) phosphate coating which is chemically bonded to the metal surface.

Seal 785RP

Mildly-alkaline non-chrome polymer nanotechnology sealing rinse and flash rust inhibitor. Provides solid flash rust protection prior to coating.

Seal 783

Atlantic Seal 783 is a unique sealing rinse containing zirconium compounds, which is designed to provide a final rinse to phosphatized metal. Atlantic Seal 783 provides improved paint adhesion and corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish over traditional phosphoric or phos/moly non-chrome sealing rinses. Atlantic Seal 783 does not contain regulated heavy metals or phosphates and is acceptable for almost any waste treatment facility or regional POTW*. Atlantic Seal 783 is an excellent replacement for traditional phosphorus-based coatings when phosphates can not be used or discharged.

Seal 787LF

Atlantic Seal 787LF is a clear nanotechnology coating formulated for both outstanding corrosion inhibition and superior paint adhesion on ferrous metals, aluminum, and galvanized substrates. The imperceptible coating contains a blend of organic and inorganic polymeric compounds which naturally and permanently bond with clean metal without changing the outward appearance and brightness of the substrate. Atlantic Seal 787LF also contains an appropriate level of wetter agents to uniformly coat both rough and polished surfaces evenly.

Seal 781W

Atlantic Seal 781W  is a standard traditional non-chrome sealing rinse for phosphate coatings. Atlantic Seal 781W is a concentrated mildly acidic sealing rinse designed to provide a final rinse to phosphatized metal. Atlantic Seal 781W helps prevent flash rusting during dry-down and improves corrosion resistance to the applied paint finish. Atlantic Seal 781W is acceptable to most wastewater treatment facilities, as it contains no toxic metals, and upon slight dilution has a pH of above 5.

Seal CR2

Atlantic Seal CR2 is a liquid acidic chromate concentrate designed to provide a corrosion-resistant coating on steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, iron, zinc phosphate surfaces, and zinc surfaces. Atlantic Seal CR2 can be used in either spray or immersion applications. .

Seal 785A

Atlantic Seal 785A is a non-chrome final rinse and wash primer for conversion coating and adhesive promoting processes. It applies to steel, aluminum, zinc, and their alloys. Atlantic Seal 785A reacts with the metal’s surface to enhance its paint bonding and corrosion resistance properties. Atlantic Seal 785A is a reactive product that may be used in electrodeposition lines where a final Dl or RO rinse is required before coating application.

Atlantic 81706

Powdered chromic acid conversion coating for aluminum. MIL-C-81706 Class 1A for maximum protection against corrosion, painted or unpainted. MIL-C-5541C. TT-C-490F Type VI Class B.
